Project 3 – Bioinformatics

Project 3 aims to develop informatic methods to integrate chemical and biological datasets for natural products discovery. Using biological profiles from Project 1 and metabolomics profiles from Project 2, we will create new tools to predict the biological properties of all active constituents in any extract library. These approaches will be supported by a new online profiling platform, termed NP Analyst, that will provide open access to these methods for all academic and industrial research teams.

The NP Analyst engine includes three core modules

PhenotypeMapper: Tools to group extracts based on biological phenotypes

ActivityMapper: Tools to identify combinations of compounds responsible for biological attributes of complex extracts

FamilyMapper: Tools to identify families of compounds that, together, drive specific phenotypic behaviors in complex mixtures.
